What We do

Ramoz Eye Hospital is the leading provider of eye health services in Kabul and a world-class center of excellence for ophthalmic research and education. We have a reputation, developed for providing the highest quality of ophthalmic care. Our 30 staff are committed to sustaining and building on our pioneering legacy and ensuring we remain at the cutting edge of developments in ophthalmology.

The Best in Modern Clinical Care

Our main focus is the treatment and care of patients with a wide range of eye problems, from common complaints to rare conditions that require treatment not available elsewhere in the Kabul.  The volume and variety of conditions treated by our clinicians means that they have a unique range of skills and knowledge.

Care closer to home

We treat people in many locations in and around Kabul. This means that we can provide more first-class care and treatment in the community, closer to where people work.

Pioneering new research

With our partners, we are a national and international centre for research into eye conditions and treatments, leading one of the strongest and most extensive ophthalmic research programmes in the world.  Together, we have one of the highest measures of scientific productivity and impact in the world for eye research activity.

Teaching tomorrow’s eye experts

We are a major force in teaching short term courses for the eye specialists of the future.  Our experts provide teaching and training for a wide range of eye health professionals, including clinicians from around Afghanistan who come to learn from us.
